YUI HORIUCHI is a Tokyo based artist whose works cover wide range of mediums from painting, illustration to embroidery. Since acquiring her B.F.A degree in Oil Painting from Tama Art University, Tokyo in 2011, she has been developing her multiple art practice. Her work, regardless of its form, tends to be inspired by incomparable beauty and rich colors found in nature. For her embroidery works, she stitches her own designs on found fabrics such as used tablecloths and cotton bags not only to play with narratives and memories of the materials but also to make her artworks portable and wearable. She has also offered commissioned works for a various clients including Isetan Department Store in Tokyo.
